Job Summary:
Materials Supervisor is responsible for accurately receiving and storing material in the proper locations, distributing and issuing material to the job on the production floor, while ensuring chain of custody is executed and in a timely manner. This role ensures that inventory is maintained to ensure accurate counts to keep operations running efficiently. This position requires supervising employees.
Requirements
  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming material for accurate specifications, quantities and damage, verifying accuracy against purchase orders, and packing list. Report any discrepancies.
  • Store materials in designated locations using appropriate material-handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) and processing change of locations as necessary.
  • Pull material for jobs and issuing items accordingly and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate inventory by verifying and comparing physical counts to ERP.
  • Transport material safely throughout the warehouse to the production line.
  • Follow safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and equipment operating procedures.
  • Assist with monthly cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Prepare material for shipping to include scheduling and crating.
  • Keep warehouse, work areas clean, organized, and compliant with company and safety regulations.
  • Train, schedule and lead department employees for shipping, receiving and materials roles.
  • Will conduct performance reviews, monitor staff attendance, and clocking accuracy.
  • Reporting any issues to manager.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate degree or higher.
  • Prior experience supervising employees in an inventory, logistics or related field.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate material-handling equipment (forklift certification).
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP inventory systems and Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods (five plus hours at a time).

Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced warehouse manufacturing setting.
  • May require overtime, shift work, or weekend hours dependent on production needs.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and warehouse equipment.
