Job description

Audubon is currently seeking a Project Material Manager to join our team in our Houston, TX Energy Corridor Office. This position serves as a Material Manager on small- to medium-sized Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) projects, or as a Project Procurement Manager on medium- to large-sized EPFC projects. This role has key responsibilities for critical supplier negotiations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position organizationally reports to the Site Manager, and functionally to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Provide technical and administrative direction related to the established Company, Material Management, and/or project policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the implementation, management, and monitoring of the Material Management Work Process with the approved Corporate Reference Tool for Material Management to meet project requirements and schedule
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control the material management discipline
  • Advocate the use of the Material Management knowledge management portals and communities
  • Maintain effective client relationships through client service excellence in execution
  • Prepare and issue relevant Material Management reports
  • Other duties as assigned
  • This is a field position, ability to travel domestically
  • Ability to proactively manage change
  • Demonstrated performance acting responsively and timely
  • Ability to coordinate & communicate with buyers/expeditors
  • Ensures that materials and equipment received at the project site are properly inspected, marked, and identified
  • Ensures that material is properly stored & documented
  • Investigation and resolution of invoice discrepancies & P.O's Close out.
  • Establishes and conducts training programs for new employees in material management project procedures

  • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)
  • Experience primarily in the area of material management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent computer literacy and skills
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
