Job description

Job Title: Core Cutting Lead Technician
Type of Role: Direct Hire
Shift / Hours: 1st Shift
Location: Houston Texas
Salary Range: $50K - $60K

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Core Cutting Technician to support the startup and operation of automated equipment used to process electrical steel into precision transformer core laminations. This role is ideal for someone with strong manufacturing experience, attention to detail, and the ability to help train and support a growing production team during facility ramp-up.

Responsibilities

  • Record production and quality data in tracking systems
  • Help train and support Technicians during production ramp-up
  • Perform basic equipment inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Inspect materials and finished laminations for accuracy and defects
  • Set up and operate automated core cutting and step-lap equipment
  • Safely handle steel coils and materials using cranes and lifting equipment
  • Support equipment startup, troubleshooting, and process improvements
  • Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to maintain quality
  • Run cutting programs according to engineering specs and work instructions

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or industrial experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with precision engineered materials
  • Ability to read technical drawings and production specifications
  • Experience using measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • 3+ years operating automated equipment in a precision manufacturing environment
