The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center relies on a highly effective supply chain to ensure that critical medical supplies, equipment, and linens are available when and where they are needed. The Senior Materials Management Representative plays a key role in supporting daily operations by coordinating inventory activities, maintaining supply levels, preparing emergency crash carts, and ensuring the efficient distribution of essential materials across the organization.
As an experienced member of the Materials Management team, the Senior Materials Management Representative serves as a resource for operational excellence, inventory accuracy, and customer service. This position supports patient care and organizational readiness through inventory control, supply replenishment, equipment inspections, system utilization, process improvement initiatives, and peer training to ensure seamless support for clinical and non-clinical departments.
The ideal candidate will have experience pulling and lifting 500 pounds of linen or supplies throughout the hospital, documenting, and inventory management.
Minimum $22.60 - Midpoint $28.13 - Maximum $33.65 per hour based on a 40-hour work week. The typical work schedule is 12:00pm - 8:30pm, Monday - Friday day shift, with rotating weekends and holidays. Work location: Onsite.
Candidates with experience using artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies are preferred. To support employee success and responsible AI adoption, all new team members participate in comprehensive AI training as part of their onboarding experience. This includes a full-day Claude training program for new members of MMS and CSC, as well as completion of the institution's mandatory AI Compliance Training to ensure safe, effective, and compliant use of AI technologies in the workplace.

Responsibilities:
Supply Chain & Inventory Operations
Coordinate daily work assignments to support efficient departmental operations and service delivery.
Manage supply replenishment activities to ensure appropriate inventory levels and product availability.
Perform just-in-time (JIT) receiving functions to support timely distribution of supplies and materials.
Assist with inventory management processes, including cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and stock accuracy initiatives.
Support the preparation, coordination, and execution of annual physical inventories.
Assist in coordinating inventory control activities to maintain compliance with departmental standards.
Distribution & Logistics
Store, dispense, retrieve, and deliver linens, patient care supplies, and equipment throughout the facility.
Stock, deliver, and maintain 24-hour par-level locations and exchange carts in patient supply, equipment, and linen areas.
Maintain inventory availability and operational readiness across assigned service areas.
Equipment & Emergency Readiness
Perform routine cart maintenance to ensure functionality, cleanliness, and readiness for use.
Maintain and prepare emergency crash carts in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Conduct daily safety inspections of equipment and promptly identify and report potential issues.
Systems, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Utilize automated information systems to support inventory management, receiving, distribution, and operational reporting.
Assist with stocking, cleaning, and transporting materials in medication storage and distribution areas while ensuring medications remain secure and are handled in accordance with established procedures.
Transport medications, when required, from designated pharmacy pick-up locations to Licensed Health Care Providers (LHPs) or medication rooms following approved protocols.
Recommend process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, customer service, and supply chain performance.
Training & Team Support
Assist with onboarding new team members and provide peer-to-peer training, guidance, and operational support as needed.
Serve as a resource to colleagues by sharing best practices and promoting adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
EDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Associate's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: Three (3) years of relevant work experience, including two (2) years in inventory, logistics, or a related field; or one (1) year of experience in logistics, inventory, or a related field with a preferred Associate's degree
