Job description

Overview and Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Director of IT & Biomedical Services, the Schroeder Ambulatory Centre is seeking a motivated Corporate Information Systems (IS) Application Analyst to join our IT & Biomedical Technology team. This role serves as the first line of support for administrative staff, ensuring the ongoing functionality and reliability of Meditech Expanse EMR, as well as integrated financial, HR, and supply chain applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in user training, troubleshooting day-to-day system issues, and performing essential maintenance to support the efficient operation of multidisciplinary care teams. In addition, the role includes providing tier-2 backup support for clinical imaging and point-of-care applications during primary analyst absences, as well as supporting the implementation of new system capabilities and enhancements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for end-user support, delivering timely and effective technical assistance for Meditech Expanse and other corporate applications through the IT ticketing system
  • Receive, triage, and manage requests related to system optimization and workflow improvements; gather and document requirements, and coordinate configuration, testing, and implementation of approved enhancements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a range of issues, including software errors, access/login challenges, and system integration concerns across financial, HR, and supply chain platforms
  • Create clear and user-friendly documentation, including guides and training materials, and deliver engaging training sessions to support both clinical and administrative staff
  • Support system reliability by assisting with the testing and validation of updates, patches, and custom reports prior to deployment in the live environment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system changes, workflows, and frequently used solutions to strengthen the IT knowledge base and improve user self-service

Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all mandatory training requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, company Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Health Information Management (HIM), Health Informatics, eHealth, Computer Science, or a related health technology field; equivalent combinations of education and relevant healthcare IT experience will be considered
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience supporting Meditech Expanse in a support or super-user capacity is preferred
  • Previous experience working in a clinical or healthcare environment is required
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt in a dynamic environment; capable of identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions across clinical and administrative workflows
  • Exposure to SQL and Meditech report writing is considered an asset, along with a willingness to further develop technical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach to supporting clinicians and staff in fast-paced settings
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT and Biomedical Services, within structured IT service management (ITIL) environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and implement effective outcomes
  • Flexibility to support occasional extended hours, including system upgrades and participation in an on-call rotation
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check/vulnerable sector check
  • Provide proof of Immunization and TB records
