DuPont has an immediate opening for a Technical Advisor at our Healthcare Industries Materials Site located in Hemlock, MI.
The DuPont Healthcare Industries Materials Site produces products for use in the Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical, Medical, and Cosmetic Industries. The site has been in continuous operation since 1964, dedicated to Healthcare products. Our products are distributed globally and are recognized as World Class for quality.
Technical Advisors serve a vital role in Operations by applying deep process knowledge, technical expertise, and hands-on plant experience to help teams troubleshoot issues, improve process performance, and increase plant reliability. In this role, you will coach and develop frontline capability while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and other functions to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance.
Key responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical/process subject matter expert (SME) for the assigned operational area; support troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Coach and develop operators and other plant personnel through field-based teaching and hands-on problem solving.
  • Support startup of new equipment/processes and help sustain stable operations.
  • Perform or support root cause/failure analysis; communicate learnings and drive preventive actions.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve process training materials and qualification assessments; support formal training and qualification of team members.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to identify and execute process improvements that improve reliability, reduce waste, and strengthen cost position.
  • Create, review, and approve operational procedures and support management of change (MOC) activities as needed.
  • Support area work processes (e.g., permits, purchase orders for supplies) as needed.
  • Participate on improvement teams and connect with broader technical resources to identify and apply best practices/Most Effective Technology (MET).

Work conditions
  • This role is plant-facing and requires regular time in the field. On-call support is required for unplanned events and emergencies.

Job qualifications profile:
Required qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated operations/production experience in a manufacturing environment with strong process troubleshooting capability.
  • Proven ability to coach, train, and influence frontline teams.
  • Strong safety mindset; ability to model and reinforce safe work behaviors and operating discipline.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and other partners.

Preferred qualifications
  • Technician degree (may vary by location).
  • 10-15 years' experience as a Production Operator/Technician (or equivalent).
  • Specific technology/fluids process expertise.
  • Knows when to escalate problems and coaches others to escalate when needed.
