Material Control Clerk

POSITION TITLE: Material Control Clerk STATUS: Non-exempt

DEPARTMENT: Material Control

REPORTS TO: Material Control Supervisor

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Material Control Clerk is responsible for the material in the Vault. This includes but is not limited to checking the metal in and out, tracking metal, organizing material, doing inventory, filling out reports, and filling in for Shipping/Receiving as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of essential functions/duties satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Direct the material going in and coming out of the vault daily for each shift
    • Physically check metal in and out as needed, and fill out appropriate reports
    • Inventory the product going in and out of vault
    • Organize daily orders for various departments, and deliver metal as needed
    • Track metal in manufacturing facility
    • Complete work within appropriate timeframe in order to prevent backlog
  • Organize and maintain vault to meet the immediate needs of the manufacturing plant
  • Courteously answer questions from customer service, management, the manufacturing staff, or determine their needs and direct them to the appropriate person or department
  • Fill in for Shipping/Receiving as needed
  • Perform other job-related tasks as identified and updated as needed
  • Assist in plant-wide inventory
