Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Transportation Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of our vanpool services. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth scheduling, routing, and communication between drivers, riders, and our internal team. The ideal candidate will bring experience in transportation logistics, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily vanpool schedules and routes, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs.
  • Monitor vehicle usage, driver assignments, and ridership trends to optimize efficiency.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for vanpool drivers and riders, addressing questions, concerns, or emergencies.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new vanpool drivers in coordination with HR and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and local/state transportation laws.
  • Manage trip data, reports, and maintenance schedules using transportation management software (TMS).
  • Oversee vehicle inspections, service records, and preventative maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote vanpool programs and support ridership growth initiatives.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigation, and resolution in collaboration with management.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in transportation coordination, fleet operations, or logistics.
  • Knowledge of vanpool programs, commuter services, or shared mobility operations is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and transportation/fleet management software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and problem-solve in real-time.
