Job description

Position Summary
The Marketplace Manager is responsible for the strategic growth, daily operations, and performance optimization of AMain Hobbies' third-party marketplace channels, including Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and emerging platforms. This role owns marketplace P&L, catalog health, pricing strategy, promotions, compliance, and cross-functional coordination to drive profitable growth while maintaining brand standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketplace Strategy & Growth
  • Develop and execute marketplace strategies aligned with AMain Hobbies' revenue, margin, and brand goals
  • Identify growth opportunities across existing and new marketplaces
  • Own marketplace P&L, forecasting, and performance reporting

Catalog & Listing Management
  • Oversee product onboarding, listings, and content optimization (titles, bullets, images, A+ content, attributes, SEO)
  • Ensure catalog accuracy, compliance, and suppression resolution
  • Manage assortment strategy by marketplace, including exclusives and channel-specific SKUs

Pricing, Promotions & Profitability
  • Manage pricing strategy to remain competitive while protecting margins
  • Plan, execute, and analyze promotions, deals, and marketplace events (Prime Day, Black Friday, etc.)
  • Monitor fees, advertising costs, and operational expenses to optimize profitability

Advertising & Traffic Management
  • Own marketplace advertising strategies (Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, eBay Promoted Listings, etc.)
  • Optimize spend, ROAS, and campaign structure in partnership with internal or external teams
  • Leverage marketplace tools and data to drive visibility and conversion

Operations & Compliance
  • Manage fulfillment strategy (FBA, FBM, 3PL, dropship where applicable)
  • Monitor account health metrics, performance standards, and policy compliance
  • Resolve escalations related to account issues, claims, returns, and customer feedback

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Content teams
  • Align inventory planning and demand forecasting with marketplace needs
  • Support new product launches and brand initiatives across marketplaces

Reporting & Analysis
  • Track KPIs including sales, margin, conversion, buy box, ad performance, and inventory health
  • Deliver regular performance reporting with actionable insights
  • Stay current on marketplace trends, policy changes, and competitive landscape

Requirements
Required:
  • 3-6+ years managing third-party marketplaces (Amazon required; eBay/Walmart strongly
  • Strong understanding of marketplace algorithms, SEO, advertising, and performance levers
  • Proven experience owning revenue and margin goals
  • Advanced analytical skills with Excel/Google Sheets and marketplace reporting tools
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred:
  • Experience in hobby, specialty retail, or enthusiast categories
  • Familiarity with tools such as Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Pacvue, Seller Central, Walmart Seller Center, etc.
  • Experience managing large catalogs and complex assortments
  • Knowledge of MAP policies and brand protection strategies

JOB CONDITIONS:
  1. Sitting 95% - heavy office work, including the use of a computer.
  2. Uses hands 95%+.
