The Role

We're looking for a Brand Marketing Operations Manager who loves process as much as they love people. This role is part project manager, part coach and mentor-driving clarity, building systems, and empowering our social and communications teams to deliver their best work.

Based in Kansas City, this person will bring energy, planning expertise, and organizational skills to our business every day, while fostering the collaborative, positive, and entrepreneurial environment that makes us Team Essense.

You'll have a proven track record of building and improving processes for teams that are equal parts strategic and creative. You'll oversee the day-to-day operations of brand marketing initiatives, with a strong focus on content publishing, social media, and communications. From campaign launches to content calendars, you'll keep projects running seamlessly-managing timelines, streamlining workflows, and clearing roadblocks-while also motivating the team behind the work.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Work upstream and downstream with partners to align on key dates impacting or impacted by, activities within the department
  • Serve as the department intake for briefs, working with team members to identify gaps and needs before going into the department's work streams
  • Create and lead the forums to ensure the appropriate linkages and integrations are occurring across departments
  • Create and maintain necessary project management documentation, templates, and reports, to include project requirements, project briefs, status reports, SOW, meeting agendas/notes, and lessons learned
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with team members and other departments involved in the projects
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle; ensure key milestones and approvals are communicated and achieved
  • Proactively identify, manage, and communicate issues and risks to the project deliverables and timelines
  • Independently work on projects as assigned, creating plans, frameworks and constructs to keep a project moving
  • Actively create, optimize and/or document processes that will enable the teams to work more efficiently
  • Seek out and establish the tools, technology and processes to standardize workflow, eliminate redundancies and inefficiencies
  • Develops the processes to ensure up to the minute updates/feedback is distributed to appropriate teams to action
  • Track and resolve process breakdowns and determine how to avoid in the future
  • Leverage the tools and best practices of our centralized PMO when creating new process and managing more complex projects
  • Build and optimize workflows to improve efficiency, visibility, and accountability.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align on milestones, timelines, and dependencies across teams.
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks, proactively resolve issues, and keep projects moving forward.
  • Build strong working relationships across teams, inspiring trust, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Champion clarity and continuous improvement, embracing change and helping others adapt in a way that keeps people motivated and engaged.
Qualifications

What We Are Looking For: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or similar field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • Strong analytical aptitude with an ability to connect dots, ask insightful questions and synthesize feedback from multiple sources
  • Ability to think and plan end-to-end; can identify and timeline steps to complete complex or ambiguous projects
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously while meeting agreed deadlines
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills
  • Procedure and process oriented with ability and inclination to document, socialize and hold others accountable for procedures
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours on an occasional basis according to business needs
  • Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Innate ability to anticipate challenges and remove barriers
  • Ability to map processes and enjoys it -- has never met a process that can't be improved
  • Experience with Wrike or other project management tools; excellent Excel skills
  • Must have the ability to work at a fast pace with a sense of hustle while remaining detail-oriented.
  • Must be curious and have a continuous improvement mindset.
