Who We Want

The AVP, Business Development will have in-depth industry understanding, proven experience in prospecting and generating opportunities, current advisor relationships and be knowledgeable of key competitors in the marketplace.

The AVP, Business Development will be responsible for generating leads through various prospecting techniques, generate team production by leveraging regional events, network opportunities, the Carson Group network, and providing support to the National Sales Director, Vice President of Sales Enablement and Vice Presidents of Business Development. The Associate Vice President, Business Development will be responsible for and held accountable to both team and individual activity and sales targets on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

What To Expect
  • Generate leads for the sales team by using various prospecting and lead generation techniques.
  • Work with the VPs to fill and manage the Sales Pipeline with your respective territory.
  • Responsible for supporting sales process within region from prospecting phase to conversion.
  • Identify prospects, build relationships with current Carson Group Partners, and add new Carson Group Partners.
  • Leverage Carson Group Partner resources to achieve quarterly and annual targets.
  • Work with Event Producer to coordinate successful Prospect events
  • Follow the company's sales process.
  • Participate in weekly sales team meeting and sales training.
  • Collaborate with Business Development team to drive successful sales.
  • Participate in training and continuing education requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or required to maintain and grow profitable business within the defined region.
  • Demonstrate behaviors in alignment with the Carson Core Values.
  • Position will travel nationally as needed.
What You Need
  • Must have demonstrated track record of achieving lead generating objectives.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry.
  • Must be able to work independently and in team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must accept demand driven travel and weekend work.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or higher preferred.
  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience as successful External Wholesaler, Internal Wholesaler or combination of both, or equivalent in the financial services industry required.
  • Clean U-4 and U-5 history.

The total rewards expected for this role include:

  • Starting annual base salary between $75,400-$114,950.
  • Variable compensation potential (Bonus and/or commissions).
  • Target total compensation if sales goals/KPIโ€™s are achieved is $250,000. This includes salary plus bonus income.
