Position Description

The Associate Specialist, Downstream Marketing, supports the planning, development and execution of marketing campaigns for Applied Medical’s products, programs and solutions. This role on the Market Implementation team works cross-functionally with Clinical Development to support product launches, generate awareness for emerging surgical techniques, and deliver impactful marketing activities that drive customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive clinical marketing plans.
  • Guide and support creation, development, and execution of customer-facing marketing materials across multiple platforms (e.g., print, social media, web, email, webinars, etc.).
  • Work collaboratively across multiple teams at Applied Medical, including Clinical Development (product management), Branding, Corporate Communications and Field, to create targeted marketing resources, including advertisements, PR assets, webinars, symposia, and other relevant initiatives.
  • Support planning and execution of industry-sponsored and company-sponsored events and activities, such as symposia, webinars, and other in-person or virtual events and activities.  
  • Engage with surgeons, hospitals, and health systems to generate awareness of products, programs and solutions aimed at addressing unmet needs in healthcare.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather customer insights to inform marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, including A/B testing, engagement, and customer feedback, to optimize campaign effectiveness.
  • Provide project updates and key insights to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Coordinate with global counterparts and Clinical Development teams, as needed.

  • Develop a strong understanding of Applied Medical’s product portfolio, customer needs, and relevant surgical specialties.
  • Contribute to downstream marketing initiatives that create value for the customer(s).
  • Build collaborative and strong relationships with Clinical Development, Branding, Corporate Communications and Field teams.
  • Create high-quality marketing materials that effectively educate and engage the target audience(s).
  • Uses data, internal and external feedback, and campaign metrics to continuously improve marketing initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in medical device marketing, healthcare marketing, marketing communications, or related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing initiatives in cross-functional environments
  • Experience supporting product launches
  • Experience with creating healthcare professional and patient marketing content
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Proven success in managing project scope, timelines and deliverables to achieve timely completion of projects
  • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends
