Job description

Position Summary:
The Assistant Product Manager is responsible for product positioning, go-to-market strategy, and translating consumer and market insights into compelling product stories. This role bridges product strategy and marketing execution, ensuring successful product launches and clear, differentiated messaging. Assist in the development and execution of new/relaunched product and marketing projects from concept through launch. The position serves as the central point of communication and accountability for project progress.


A key aspect of this position will include conducting research on impact factors such as pricing, competition and customer preferences/needs along with final product performance characteristics of new and updated products.

Key Responsibilities / Primary Duties:

  • Develop product positioning, messaging, and value propositions
  • Coordinate go-to-market strategy and planning for new product launches
  • Conduct competitive analysis and monitor category trends
  • Generate and apply consumer insights to inform strategy
  • Partner with sales, production, inventory, research & development, regulatory affairs, and customer service teams to align initiatives and timelines
  • Review and approve artwork and marketing copy
  • Support pricing, packaging, and innovation decisions
  • Drive packaging execution from concept to shelf, managing timelines for launches and change
  • Lead specified packaging transition efforts. For example: Product or packaging failures/Formula Revisions/Discontinues/and Excess inventory evaluations. This would involve sales volume analysis, future demand needs, inventory evaluation, providing decision makers with applicable data, communicating go-forward planning, and progress tracking.
  • Backup support for various product development responsibilities including, but not limited to, mock-ups, sales tools, regulatory coordination, consumer testing, translations, intellectual property takedowns, brand registration and protection, team product knowledge training, trade show execution
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor.


Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year institution in Marketing or a Marketing related field of study preferred. Minimum – two-year Associate’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in product or brand marketing (CPG preferred)
  • Strong analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Experience with product launches and market research
  • Ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
