We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in promoting the growth of Wendelโ€™s Master Builder Services, where our Construction Management team delivers integrated design, procurement, and construction management solutions. This individual will leverage expertise in design and construction to drive strategic growth, build high-value partnerships, and secure complex projects.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in business development experience, a client-focused mindset grounded in transparency and partnership, and a deep knowledge of alternative delivery methods that integrate professional architecture, engineering, and construction management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Market Positioning
    • Lead market analysis to identify trends and opportunities across Wendelโ€™s Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest regions
    • Position Wendelโ€™s Construction Management services within evolving public and private sector markets
    • Support annual business planning and alignment with company strategy
  • Client Development & Relationship Management
    • Develop and execute strategies to grow existing internal and external clients and secure new opportunities
    • Build long-term, strategic relationships aligned with our Master Builder project delivery approaches
    • Maintain accurate client and opportunity data in Wendelโ€™s CRM system (Cosential/Unanet)
  • Proposal Development 
    • Collaborate with technical teams to develop compelling proposals and presentations
    • Align submissions with client objectives and Wendelโ€™s strategic positioning
    • Incorporate Wendelโ€™s Master Builder Services and application of innovative Total Project Solutions
  • Partnership & Brand Development
    • Build relationships with public and private sector stakeholders, including government agencies and industry organizations
    • Increase brand visibility through targeted outreach, social media, and industry engagement
    • Support conference planning, attendance, and representation
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
    • Support development and execution of sales strategies to meet revenue targets
    • Leverage both direct business development and indirect marketing efforts
  • Industry Engagement
    • Represent Wendel at conferences, trade shows and industry events
    • Expand network, strengthen brand presence, and contribute thought leadership to support strategic initiatives
  • Reporting & Performance Assessment 
    • Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitive insights
    • Provide actionable recommendations to leadership for strategic decision making

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Masterโ€™s degree a plus)
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within A/E/C or Construction Management sectors
  • Proven success securing large-scale projects and delivering strong client outcomes
  • Deep knowledge of alternative delivery methods, contract structures, and industry trends
  • Demonstrated ability to influence clients and key stakeholders
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple assignments and priorities
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office

Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000
