Job description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Operational Support Facilities Division, Border Patrol and Air and Marine Program Management Office, 2 vacancies located in:
  • Marfa, TX
  • Yuma, AZ
?This announcement has been amended on 06/29/2026 to extend the closing date to 07/07/2029.Qualifications:Experience GS-13: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
  • Applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices related to facility management and maintenance and resolving technical issues that may arise.
  • Utilizing understanding of power generation and utility systems essential to facilities, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, evaporative cooling systems, emergency generators, plumbing lines, pipe grading, and electrical transformer loads.
  • Overseeing complex building systems and construction processes; developing accurate scopes of work and cost estimates.
  • Reviewing and applying regulations, design standards, administrative manuals, and departmental policies governing the procurement of equipment and services to support facility operations.
  • Coordinating with other organizations to modify and adjust plans, methods, and procedures to anticipate and prevent problems and determining appropriate facility maintenance practices based on the structural integrity of buildings and building materials.

  • Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 07/07/2026.
