Drive Growth. Build Partnerships. Make an Impact.
Are you a relationship-driven sales professional with a passion for Commercial Lines insurance and helping independent agencies grow their business? As a Commercial Lines Territory Manager, within the territory of Massachusetts. You will play a key role in driving profitable Commercial Lines growth across an assigned territory of independent agency partners.
In this highly visible role, you'll partner directly with agency principals, Commercial Lines managers, producers, and account teams to strengthen relationships, uncover new business opportunities, and expand Mapfre's share of market within high-potential agencies. You'll leverage strategic territory planning, product expertise, consultative sales skills, and strong partnerships with underwriting and business leaders to help agencies grow while achieving production, retention, and profitability goals.
This is an opportunity to combine your insurance expertise, sales acumen, and relationship-building abilities to make a measurable impact on agency success and Commercial Lines results.
What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute agency-specific territory plans focused on increasing Mapfre's share of market and expanding profitable growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong, in-person relationships with agency principals, Commercial Lines managers, producers, account teams, and other key decision-makers.
  • Manage pipeline activity, quote follow-up, lost business reviews, and conversion strategies in partnership with agencies and underwriting teams.
  • Identify and execute cross-sell opportunities across Commercial Lines products, including Commercial Auto, BOP, CPP, Umbrella, Small Commercial, and Middle Market solutions.
  • Partner closely with Commercial Lines Underwriting to align agency opportunities with underwriting appetite, risk quality, pricing discipline, and profitability goals.
  • Deliver agency business reviews, onboarding, product education, sales coaching, system training, and ongoing agency development initiatives designed to improve agency performance and strengthen engagement.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and communicate market insights to underwriting, product, marketing, and business development leadership.
  • Collaborate with Personal Lines business development partners to support broader agency relationship management and identify Commercial Lines expansion opportunities.
  • Prospect for strategic Commercial Lines agency appointments and book transfer opportunities that align with Mapfre standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of agency visits, sales opportunities, pipeline activity, action items, and agreements within Salesforce/CRM and other designated systems.
  • Participate in internal meetings, committees, and business reviews supporting product updates, rate changes, market trends, territory strategies, and business development initiatives.
  • Proactively communicate with agency concerns, competitive pressures, market opportunities, and operational barriers that may impact territory results.
  • Travel regularly throughout the territory (up to 75%) to support agency engagement, business development, and territory growth.
  • Support overall corporate goals and business objectives.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree, professional-level knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience.
  • 4-6 years of related experience, or an associate degree plus 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines products, underwriting appetite, risk selection, pricing considerations, agency workflows, competitive positioning, and sales pipeline management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted agency partnerships, influence results, and drive profitable growth.
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship management, and consultative selling skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce/CRM tools to manage agency activity, opportunities, and territory planning.
  • Industry designations such as CPCU, CIC, CRM, ARM, AU, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
