The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Planning Analyst to join our Austin office, contributing to a wide range of projects including strategic planning, urban planning, school facility planning, and strategic plan development. This role will involve leading GIS analysis, data visualization, and web-application development, making it a critical position within our firm. The ideal candidate is proficient in spatial data analysis and comfortable managing complex datasets to provide actionable insights for design and planning purposes.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Work on multiple large-scale planning projects simultaneously, ensuring efficient project execution.
  • Data Analysis: Lead data analysis and data visualization efforts across several concurrent projects, utilizing platforms like R, Power BI and Tableau.
  • GIS Analysis: Conduct and oversee GIS analysis and processing using tools such as ESRI ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and Mapbox.
  • Web Development: Learn to develop web-based GIS and other full-stack applications, ensuring functionality and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Deliverables: Develop, present, and share high-quality professional deliverables with clients and stakeholders, including reports, maps, and visualizations.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate and communicate effectively with project team members to ensure alignment and smooth workflow.

  • Strong proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Mapbox, and other GIS platforms.
  • Preferred experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Proven ability to process and analyze large data sets for planning and decision-making purposes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in web-based application development and UX/UI design for web and mobile platforms preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based GIS solutions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of spatial data standards and best practices preferred.

PE has a hybrid policy that allows flexibility for our employees in managing their working days and hours to cater to their diverse needs.
Salary Range: $64,500 - $79,000
Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographical work location.
