The Stratospheric ISR business unit within Ondas Sentinel is focused on one of the most unique mission areas in aerospace and defense: manufacturing and operating high-altitude stratospheric balloon systems. Job Description

The Test Engineer will work closely across all engineering teams to develop and conduct tests on all systems including Avionics platforms. Additionally, they will be involved in developing and training on a variety of software and analytical equipment to support World View’s Stratospheric ISR and Remote Sensing endeavors.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct unit and system level testing on flight avionics platforms
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures
  • Maintain all test related procedures to optimize throughput and efficiencies
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment
  • Conduct detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis to determine failure mechanisms of components and systems
  • Ensure test lab equipment and layouts are documented and designed to meet production needs
  • Develop, maintain, and train on all test software and analytical equipment
  • Monitor and implement project test plans ensuring timely delivery of corporate objectives
  • Define vehicle configuration requirements per test phase
  • Execute integrated product tests and perform data reduction
  • Support test & integration prior to launch operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, math or science, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to interface with a multidisciplinary technical team to design quality accelerated life tests, troubleshoot on-tool failures, conduct root cause analysis, and prepare reports
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering standards, requirements, & technical drawings
  • Curiosity to understand avionics at a component and system level
  • Capability to prioritize and project manage
  • Experience setting up and programming data acquisition systems is preferred
  • Willingness to do hands on work
  • Desire to work in a cooperative, fast paced, and dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
