Job description

Manufacturing Tech Specialist
Day Shift | $35–$40/hr DOE

Job Summary
The Manufacturing Tech Specialist supports Process Engineers in developing and refining high-precision machining processes. This role is heavily hands-on and shop floor focused, assisting with machine setup, first article builds, trial runs, and troubleshooting production issues. The position plays a key role in transitioning new product introduction (NPI) work into stable, efficient production while driving improvements in quality, yield, and cycle time. Strong collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Planning teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with machine setup, prove-outs, and first article builds
  • Execute trial runs and document process data (cycle time, yield, capability)
  • Support transition of NPI jobs into stable production environments
  • Troubleshoot machining and process issues (tool wear, offsets, fixturing, programming)
  • Provide direct support to machinists during production challenges
  • Maintain strong presence on the shop floor to ensure process adherence
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (setup time, cycle time, yield)
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification
  • Create and update setup sheets, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Assist with inspection methods (CMM, optical systems, Keyence)
  • Support data collection and analysis for process validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Planning
