Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
You will work in a dynamic fast passed manufacturing environment working on various technical products. The day will start off attending a Gemba meeting to understand project status and obstacles for the day. Can go from performing a root cause analysis for a manufacturing defect to supporting a new product qualification and ensuring customer quality requirements are met on every order.
How You'll Make an Impact
• Detects and tracks non-conformances and lead the process of root cause analysis and corrective and preventive measure definition
• Ensures safety and quality requirements are met during component manufacturing to internal and customer requirements as part of the Product Process Qualification (PPQ) process.
• Implements the range of Professional Production Quality standards and concepts according to defined targets and processes
• Support the development of manufacturing processes and requirements that ensure products are manufactured that meet product requirements. The quality engineer will focus on quality requirements including development of pFMEA, relevant quality control measure for risk reduction and including them in the Manufacturing quality control plans and Inspections protocols.
• Is involved in project kick off and transfer meeting to ensure Inspection test plans (ITP) and QST are aligned with customer requirements and met through procurement and manufacturing processes. Ensures compliance of Steam Turbine orders to nuclear industry standards during manufacturing phase when applicable e.g. to Canadian Standard CSA N299.
• Perform process audits and runs continuous improvement projects. Support the Steam Turbines business is all quality aspects
What You Bring
  • Bachelor of Science Degree required preferably in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years related work experience in Quality Engineering in manufacturing industry. Higher level can be considered based on experience or education
  • High level skill in root cause facilitation and corrective and preventative action development.
• Ability to apply continuous improvement methods to increase manufacturing quality, efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness
• Candidate should be familiar with Lean and or Six Sigma philosophies and their application in process capability and improvement
• Highly motivated to adapt to and/or improve dynamic and complex manufacturing processes . Effective communication skills both oral and written will be highly valued
• MRP experience is preferred - SAP experience is emphasized . Exposure to digital scanning tools, their use including CMM's is a huge plus.
