Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Navigate and utilize SAP to perform essential job duties.
  • Read and interpret product drawings to perform inspections.
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications and conducting visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Approve in-process production by confirming specifications and conducting visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications and conducting visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Document inspection results by completing defect reports.
  • Review and interpret design specifications, criteria, and requirements from production drawings (components, piping, wire schematics, and assemblies) to accurately validate variance data for inspected materials and products.
  • Review and verify Bills of Material (BOM), order confirmations, job folders, SAP entries, and related documentation.
  • Verify installed components meet customer specifications and expectations.
  • Maintain and control personal inspection equipment to ensure proper use and calibration.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Verify Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and related documentation affecting product standards and specifications and ensure changes are correctly applied.
  • Initiate and submit Change Requests and Temporary Deviation Requests to Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Complete and organize quality assurance records and documentation to maintain accurate manufacturing and inspection records.
  • Assist in the development and revision of QA Travelers.
  • Communicate required adjustments with appropriate departments to resolve documentation, hardware, and assembly nonconformance issues.
  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor Quality Assurance Inspectors I and II, as well as new employees.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and promote a safe working environment.
  • Accomplish quality and organizational objectives by completing related duties and special assignments.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of production sub-assembly areas, receiving inspections, and sheet metal processes.

Qualifications

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and metric measurements.
  • Ability to read and interpret product drawings.
  • Proficient in using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and similar inspection equipment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while following written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Strong decision-making abilities.
  • Clear and legible handwriting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to access, navigate, enter, and retrieve information from SAP, SharePoint, and other internal systems.
  • Demonstrated expert-level performance as a Quality Assurance Inspector.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of manufacturing experience.
  • At least seven (7) years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience in an ISO-based manufacturing environment.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
