Job description

Project Engineer

Want to Manage Real Projects Instead of Sitting Behind a Desk?

We're partnering with a growing specialty manufacturer that produces high-purity materials used in the pharmaceutical, biotech, nutrition, food, and life sciences industries. Their products are used in applications where quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance are critical. Due to continued growth and facility

expansion, they're looking for a Project Engineer to join a tight-knit engineering team focused on improving and expanding manufacturing operations.

Projects range from small facility improvements to multi-million-dollar production line upgrades.

This is not a desk job. You'll spend about 50% of your time in the plant, working directly with maintenance, operations, electricians, welders, pipefitters, and engineering teams to make projects happen in real time.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

✅ Join a small, highly visible team driving the future of a growing manufacturing operation

✅ Manage projects ranging from facility improvements to new production lines and major capital investments

✅ Work directly with skilled trades, maintenance, operations, and leadership teams

✅ Gain exposure to utilities, piping systems, facility infrastructure, and manufacturing expansions

✅ Be involved in projects from concept through startup and execution

✅ Contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term growth potential

✅ Collaborative, people-focused culture with strong work-life flexibility

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage multiple engineering and facility projects simultaneously
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and timelines
  • Coordinate with maintenance, operations, quality, and engineering teams
  • Support facility and production line upgrades
  • Work directly with electricians, welders, pipefitters, and other skilled trades
  • Oversee utility-related projects involving water, compressed air, steam, HVAC, and piping systems
  • Review and modify engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Manage engineering changes and project adjustments as business needs evolve
  • Support equipment installations, startup activities, and construction coordination

What They're Looking For

Required

  • 1+ years of Project Engineering or Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with maintenance teams, skilled trades, contractors, or plant operations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Basic AutoCAD experience
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering degree
  • Utilities experience (water, steam, chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, piping systems)
  • Manufacturing expansion, facility upgrade, or capital project experience
  • Revit experience
  • GMP, Food, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or Consumer Products manufacturing experience

Who Thrives Here?

People who enjoy being on the manufacturing floor, solving problems, coordinating projects, and working

directly with skilled trades teams. If you like seeing your work come to life, managing impactful projects, and making real improvements to a growing operation,

this role offers a unique opportunity to do exactly that.
