The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business is a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies into new and legacy systems and platforms for global military and commercial customers. We are a 5 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.  

Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking multiple full time Project Engineers level 1.  This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule.  As a Project Engineer level 1 at Leonardo DRS Land Systems, you will be responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a project or projects on time and budget.  A successful candidate will be a resourceful and self-motivated individual and will have a proven track record of effectively leading multi-disciplined engineering teams.  As Project Engineer, you will serve as the interface between the engineering technical team and other departments within the organization, including Program Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure design compliance with all project requirements
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and may lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable 
  • May lead a team of engineers to complete a project or projects
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
  • Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
  • Mentor and coach less-experienced engineers
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Project Planning and execution
  • Demonstrated experience leading an engineering team consisting of multiple disciplines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with US Defense Acquisition Process desired

The salary range for this position is $104,295.00/year- $140,799.00/year for the state of Illinois.  This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
