Job description

Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

Description -

The Cruise Line Supervisor will have the responsibility for managing highly skilled non-exempt individual contributors within a diverse manufacturing environment with a wide range of responsibilities on the Corvallis Site. These responsibilities include the management of the pen cartridge R&D and production. In additional, there is responsibility for the oversight and strategy for the engagement with a third-party vendor providing support for the product assembly and parts management.

Duties include the supervision of activities and resources needed to support the day-to-day efforts of the department to achieve the business plan. Provides direction and expertise to departmental teams and participates in cross-department initiatives. Acts as a point of escalation for subordinate employees as well as organizational partners. Is expected to contribute to making decisions on complex business issues. Will be responsible for managing financials, cross-charges, organization goals, and metrics on performance. Provides mentoring and guidance to employees. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives & implementing improvements in process and tooling performance.

Responsibilities:

The Supervisor in this role will be responsible for setting goals, defining team objectives, establishing and delivering to project schedules, and developing the technical staff. Perform all necessary HP management duties including:

  • Actively manage safety in lab environment
  • Ensure procedures and processes are well documented
  • Partner closely with Engineering team on Test methods, yield, and cost
  • Establish capacity plan and method for balancing lab capacity
  • Manage lab productivity metrics on Outs, TAT, and quality
  • Develop team's skills to perform duties
  • Provide clear direction on work priorities and employee goals
  • Proactively champion the resolution of escalations
  • Collaborate with WW manufacturing community on best practices
  • Oversee service and maintenance of equipment in on production lines
  • Manage operational risks
  • Be accountable for department budgets
  • Deliver employee performance evaluations & performance management processes

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, teambuilding, and conflict resolution.
  • Fundamental project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Ability to understand the customer's business issue and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Solid financial and spreadsheet skills.
  • Ability to manage resources across diverse set of responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
  • Business acumen in operational principles: planning, constraint management, quality, lead times, and material tracking and reporting.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Good understanding of HP's policies and processes.
  • Typically, 5 or more years or related work experience, including 0-2 years of people management experience.

Preferred:

  • First level university degree, preferred in industrial engineering
  • Industry experience in production management
  • Extended financial acumen in managing budgets and services operations
  • Experience managing/leading technical staff of multiple disciplines
  • Ability to lead medium sized projects and influence across teams/sites
  • Core understanding of workflow design
  • Thinks critically and outside of the box

The pay range for this role is$83,000to$127,800USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
