Job description

NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Supervisors to join our Transportation & Infrastructure (Pole) team! The Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a team of manufacturing engineers and programmers to support safe, efficient, and reliable production. This role is accountable for prioritizing engineering work, supporting day-to-day operations, and driving continuous improvement in alignment with company objectives.

This ME Supervisors will be overseeing the Manufacturing Engineers and our Programming team in our Plant 5.

This is an onsite role based in Winsted, MN.

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Supervisor

Salary Range:
$101,000 – $127,000 per year (Exempt role)
(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)

As a Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Supervisor, you will:

  • Leads and develops manufacturing engineers and programmers, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and accountability
  • Prioritizes and directs engineering activities to support production needs, balancing daily support with longer-term improvement initiatives
  • Provides direct engineering support to operations to improve throughput, reduce downtime, and stabilize processes
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost using lean manufacturing principles
  • Collaborates with operations leadership to identify, prioritize, and resolve production challenges
  • Oversees development, implementation, and sustainment of manufacturing processes for new and existing products
  • Supports equipment implementation and process validation to ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are achieved
  • Ensures effective execution of process improvements, standard work, and process controls
  • Manages engineering resources and external support as needed to meet business objectives
  • Supports quality systems, root cause investigations, and corrective actions related to process performance
  • Reviews and approves engineering documentation for accuracy and completeness

Role Qualifications as a Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Supervisor:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating manufacturing engineering resources in a production environment
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and hold a team accountable to performance expectations
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, with preference for metal fabrication environments
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, continuous improvement, waste reduction) to drive measurable results
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple engineering activities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with operations leadership and influence cross-functional teams
  • Working knowledge of process control methods, standard work, and process documentation
  • Strong project execution skills with the ability to drive initiatives to completion
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated commitment to reinforcing and supporting a strong safety culture
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Word
