Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Shift Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Industry: Food Production / Manufacturing

Location- Alexandria, VA


Summary:
The Maintenance Technician (Welder) performs welding and fabrication tasks to maintain, repair, and construct production equipment in a food manufacturing facility. The role ensures machinery and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety standards.


Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Certification in welding techniques (AWS, ASME) preferred

  • Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or industrial environment (food production experience highly preferred)

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards is a plus

  • Skilled in operating welding tools and equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and precision

  • Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling industrial materials


Key Responsibilities:

  • Welding & Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication on production equipment, conveyors, stainless steel tanks, and other metal components

  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain equipment to prevent downtime and ensure operational efficiency

  • Repairs: Perform timely repairs on breakdowns to minimize production interruptions

  • Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance tasks to extend equipment lifespan
