Manufacturing Engineer

TRC Talent Solutions

Roswell, GA

Full-time

Job description

Are you a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where you can actually see the impact of your work daily? TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a highly backed, rapidly expanding defense manufacturer in Roswell, GA. This isn't your typical slow-moving, red-tape-heavy aerospace giant. Think startup energy with massive financial backing. They are doubling in size by the end of the year, expanding into a second facility, and building advanced turbojet engines that power the U.S. Department of Defense's most cutting-edge drones and interceptors. If you enjoy a "sandbox" environment where you can build and refine processes from the ground up—and prefer a culture of collaboration over "my way or the highway"—this is your next career move.

Client Overview
Our client is a rapidly growing designer and manufacturer of world-class small turbojet engines. Because these engines power unmanned advanced drones and interceptors, they are not bound by slow-moving commercial FAA guidelines, allowing for rapid iteration and high-volume production. Located in the heart of Georgia's aerospace corridor, they are experiencing explosive growth—standing up automation, co-locating their supply chain, and adding a second shift before the end of the year to meet massive demand.

What You Will Do
This role sits at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and test. You won't be inheriting a perfect system; you will be helping build it. You will take current "rough" SOPs and turn them into scalable, consistent manufacturing processes.

Turbojet Assembly Support: Lead project scopes for multiple products to support aggressive timelines. Develop, qualify, and continuously improve detailed assembly work instructions.

Process Improvement: Apply value stream mapping and problem-solving methodologies to reduce build hours, remove variability, and increase production rates. Track takt time, cycle time, and yield.

Hands-On Execution: Work directly on the production floor supporting engine assembly, fluid systems flow testing, and equipment operation.

Tooling & Fixtures: Own manufacturing design scopes from ideation through execution, creating tooling fixtures to improve accuracy and repeatability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Design, Quality, and Production teams to conduct root cause analyses. Evaluate new designs for manufacturability and seamlessly implement them into the production environment.

What You Need to Succeed

Experience Level: 4 to 8+ years of professional, hands-on manufacturing engineering experience. (Note: We highly value fast-paced backgrounds! Automotive manufacturing experience translates perfectly to our volume and speed. We are looking for engineers used to producing 40 parts a week, not 40 parts a quarter.)

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or a related Engineering discipline.

Technical Chops: Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred) and strong knowledge of drafting best practices (GD&T/ASME Standards).

Scientific Foundation: Strong understanding of the physical sciences—specifically thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science.

Work Style: Resourceful, self-sufficient, and adaptable. You roll with the punches in a dynamic environment and bring a friendly, team-first attitude (no egos).

Logistics: Must be able to work 100% onsite (5 days a week) in Roswell, GA.
