Job description

Company Controller

Join Our Team BETE is seeking a senior finance professional responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal financial controls to ensure the company's financial records are accurate and compliant with regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own and execute monthly close (journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis)
  • Oversee manufacturing accounting including inventory, costing, WIP, and cost variances
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
  • Oversee accounting operations including AR, AP, and cash flow oversight
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Partner with operations and leadership on financial insights and issue resolution
  • Support audit preparation and external requests as needed
  • Improve accounting processes and support ERP/system clean-up if applicable
  • Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff (if applicable)

Required Skills / Technologies:

  • 8+ years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior Controller experience
  • Strong knowledge of inventory, costing, and manufacturing financials
  • Month-end close ownership and financial reporting expertise
  • Advanced Excel skills ERP system experience (manufacturing-focused ERP preferred)

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • CPA or CMA ERP implementation or optimization experience Prior interim/contract consulting background
  • Audit or PE-backed manufacturing exposure Soft Skills / Culture Fit: Hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments Strong communicator with non-finance stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly assess issues and execute solutions
  • Professional, steady presence during transition Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance; or Business Administration
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and professional experience.

Reporting Relationship Reports to the CFO

Payrate: $125k - $155k annual
