Job description

Location: Randolph, Vermont

About LEDdynamics
LEDdynamics, a 3LED company, designs and manufactures high-performance LED modules, drivers, controls, and custom electronic lighting solutions for OEM customers across North America. Our success depends on delivering quality products on time while maintaining a responsive, flexible manufacturing operation.

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Buyer to support our Randolph manufacturing facility by ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules and customer commitments.

This position reports to the Operations Manager at LEDdynamics and works closely with the 3LED VP, Operations, who provides strategic leadership for purchasing, supply chain, and materials planning across the organization.

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Buyer is responsible for the day-to-day purchasing activities that keep our factory running. This role reviews material shortages, places purchase orders, expedites deliveries, communicates with suppliers, and works closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality to ensure materials are available when needed.

This is a manufacturing support role focused on execution rather than corporate supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing:
  • Place purchase orders with approved suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier acknowledgements and delivery commitments.
  • Expedite late orders and proactively resolve material shortages.
  • Maintain purchasing records and supplier communications.
  • Ensure purchase order pricing and delivery information remain accurate.
Production Support:
  • Review daily material shortages against the production schedule.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to prioritize critical material needs.
  • Coordinate with Engineering on new components and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Help ensure production orders have the materials required for on-time completion.
ERP & Inventory:
  • Maintain accurate purchasing information within the ERP system.
  • Update supplier lead times and expected delivery dates.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and material transactions.
  • Support continuous improvement of purchasing and inventory processes.
Supplier Coordination:
  • Develop professional working relationships with approved suppliers.
  • Follow up on open orders and communicate delivery risks early.
  • Escalate supply issues when necessary.
  • Support supplier performance improvement initiatives led by the 3LED Operations team.

Qualifications:
  • 3โ€“7 years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and supplier relationship skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience purchasing electronic components, PCB assemblies, mechanical parts, or industrial products.
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing.
  • APICS/ASCM training or purchasing certification is a plus.

Success in This Role:
Within your first year you will:
  • Improve material availability for production.
  • Reduce shortages and emergency purchases.
  • Improve supplier delivery performance.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and ERP data.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Help the manufacturing team consistently deliver customer orders on time.

Why Join LEDdynamics?
Youโ€™ll become part of a collaborative manufacturing team where your work directly impacts production performance and customer satisfaction. Youโ€™ll work alongside experienced operations, engineering, and quality professionals while helping build a disciplined, responsive manufacturing organization.
