Pay range: $200 โ€“ $220,000 annually

Job Summary:

As a full-time Nuclear Weapons Modernization Integration Advisor, you will provide direct technical and programmatic support to the NNSA Federal Program Office (Office of Defense Programs, NA-10) that is responsible for execution of nuclear weapons modernization activities. You will serve as a senior subject matter expert for weapon system integration, systems engineering, production planning, Phase 6.X execution, and interagency coordination across the Nuclear Security Enterprise. You will support Federal Program Managers and Federal Program Engineers by integrating activities among NNSA Headquarters, Design Agencies, Production Agencies, Department of Defense stakeholders, and external partners to ensure modernization programs execute within approved technical, cost, schedule, safety, and security baselines. It is an onsite role working in the JAG DOE/NNSA building in Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior technical and programmatic support to Federal Program Managers and Federal Program Engineers throughout the Phase 6.X weapon development process.
  • Coordinate weapon modernization activities among NNSA Headquarters, National Laboratories, Production Agencies, DoD Project Officers Groups, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related technical discipline.
  • Active Q (or Top Secret) security clearance.
  • 20 or more years supporting nuclear weapons programs within DOE, NNSA, DoD, National Laboratories, or Production Agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple nuclear weapon modernization programs within NNSA Defense Programs and/or lead project officer organization within the Air Force or Navy.
  • Knowledge of Phase 6.X process, Nuclear Weapons Council (NWC) processes, Product Realization Teams, Project Officer Groups, nuclear weapons systems engineering, production planning, integrated master scheduling, and risk management.
  • Experience developing executive-level briefings and decision documentation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience supporting:
  • Multiple strategic weapon modernization programs (ICBM, SLBM, and gravity bomb systems).
  • Joint NNSA/Department of Defense activities.
  • Production Control Document development and management.
  • Safety and Surety activities.
  • Interface Requirements Agreements.
  • Weapon system integration.
  • Planning and execution of Joint Test Assemblies.
  • Nuclear weapon production planning.
  • Multi-agency systems integration.

The expected base salary range for this role is $200 โ€“ $220,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
