Strategic Weapons Control Systems Engineer Pittsfield, MA Pay Estimated: $43.62 - $48.62/Hour Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law We are hiring a Systems Engineer in Pittsfield, MA to support the modernization of Strategic Weapons Control and Fire Control Systems (FCS) for next-generation defense platforms. This role requires experience with systems engineering lifecycle processes, systems integration, requirements management, verification and validation, hardware/software integration, and defense systems engineering supporting mission-critical strategic weapons technologies. Responsibilities: * Support the development, integration, testing, verification, and validation of Strategic Weapons Control and Fire Control Systems (FCS). * Manage system requirements, technical documentation, traceability, and configuration management activities throughout the engineering lifecycle. * Coordinate hardware and software integration efforts, including: * Test planning * Troubleshooting * Test execution * Reporting and analysis * Contribute to system architecture development, engineering design reviews, technical documentation, and customer deliverables. * Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex technical and integration challenges. * Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and engineering presentations with internal stakeholders and government customers. * Support engineering process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives. * Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and AI-driven solutions to improve engineering workflows and system performance. * Support program execution activities within secure defense engineering environments. Qualifications: * U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law. * Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance. * Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. * Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience; or a Master's degree with 6 months of related experience. * Understanding of systems engineering principles, technical standards, and engineering lifecycle processes. * Ability to learn quickly and contribute within a collaborative engineering environment. * Experience supporting technical problem solving, systems integration, or engineering development activities. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with Fire Control Systems (FCS) or strategic weapons systems. * Knowledge of systems engineering processes, including: * Requirements management * Verification and validation * Documentation control * Configuration management * Experience supporting hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and test execution. * Familiarity with systems modeling and requirements management tools. * Experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams and technical design reviews. * Strong technical presentation and communication skills.
