Who You Are:
You are energetic, collaborative, have strong communication and are results driven. You thrive in a rapidly changing environment, are curious and have the vision to develop and build the brand esthetic. You are a prolific designer with a strong fashion sense, trend awareness, and industry knowledge.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the entire product design process for both mainline and outlet including trend research, sourcing raw materials, stitch development, sketching, creating design boards, tech pack development, BOMs and fit, all in collaboration with Design Director.
  • Understanding the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into appropriate and exclusive products.
  • Ensure that product is consistent with seasonal concepts and storytelling as well as business strategy and vision.
  • Research and source yarn from both Italian and Asian mills keeping in mind price points, specialist attributes and sustainability.
  • Develop seasonally appropriate stitches that align with both the Michael Kors aesthetic and seasonal concepts.
  • Bring innovative ideas to build a strong and elevated collection and confidently present these ideas to our senior and cross-functional partners.
  • Create development packages, design sketch boards and CADs of seasonal product.
  • Complete design technical packages and trim BOMs in PLM system in order to develop precise and engaging proto and showroom samples.
  • Lead a fitting with tech design and production team with support from Design Director.
  • Communicate and collaborate internally with merchandising, product development and technical design teams as well as our partners on the MMK team.
  • Communicate regularly and clearly to our overseas agents and global cross-functional partners.


You'll Need to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Textile Design, specialization in fully fashioned sweaters preferred
  • 5+ years fully fashioned sweater design experience
  • Expert design, technical sketch and conceptual skills with high attention to detail
  • Advanced sketching skills in Illustrator
  • Strong sense of silhouette, color, material and trim
  • Full understanding of technical knitting capabilities, yarn construction, machine gauge and garment construction
  • Excellent experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PLM
