Giro Pack, Inc. is looking for a Knitting Operator Trainee to support production operations at our Vidalia, GA. location. Currently the selected candidate will be trained Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, once training is completed the candidate will work on 2nd shift, Monday- Friday (2:00 pm -10:00 pm) or 3rd Shift, Monday - Friday (10:00 pm - 6:00 am)

The Knitting Operator plays an integral part in the manufacturing of products within the fruit/vegetable packaging industry and is responsible for the safe/efficient operation of thirty industrial knitting machines.

Knitting Operator job duties include:

  • Ensuring knitting machines are operated correctly and report any shortcomings to the supervisor/maintenance in a timely manner
  • Complete required production forms
  • Maintain/Lube production machinery as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Ensure knitting material and core material are properly stocked
  • Transfer scrap materials to assigned area
  • Scan/transport finished products to assigned area
  • Conduct other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Requirements and skills:

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds etc.)
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safety rules
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Very good vision and ability to handle intricate, detail oriented work
  • Warehouse experience is an asset, but not necessary
  • Must be able/willing to work a flexible schedule
