Job description

Job Responsibilities Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School is seeking an experienced IT Supervisor to provide senior-level leadership and oversight of the school's technology operations. This position will be responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and effective technology services that support students, faculty, staff, and school operations. The IT Supervisor will report directly to the Director of Operations and will provide leadership across school technology, infrastructure, cybersecurity, devices, systems, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of the school's IT operations and technology environment. Supervise and coordinate technical support for faculty, staff, and students. Manage and maintain the school's network, servers, computers, mobile devices, peripherals, and other technology infrastructure.

Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability and address issues proactively. Oversee cybersecurity practices, data protection, user access, and technology security protocols. Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to IT operations, cybersecurity, acceptable technology use, and data security.

Manage user accounts, permissions, system access, and technology onboarding/offboarding. Coordinate hardware and software procurement, licensing, inventory, maintenance, and replacement. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while ensuring timely support for end users.

Work with vendors, service providers, and technology partners to resolve issues and maintain service levels. Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, equipment, licenses, and technology procedures. Assist with technology planning, budgeting, upgrades, and long-term infrastructure improvements.

Support technology-related projects and initiatives across the school. Ensure appropriate backup, recovery, and business-continuity practices are maintained. Stay current with emerging technology, cybersecurity threats, and best practices relevant to educational environments.

Provide guidance and training to employees on technology systems, cybersecurity awareness, and appropriate technology use. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations. Minimum and Additional Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

Significant professional experience in information technology, systems administration, network administration, or a related field. Demonstrated experience providing senior IT leadership and operational oversight. Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, servers, endpoint devices, operating systems, and technology systems.

Experience with cybersecurity, data protection, access management, and IT risk management. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project-management skills. Experience managing technology vendors, service providers, and IT-related budgets preferred.

Experience supervising or leading IT personnel preferred. Experience working in a school, educational, governmental, or similarly structured environment is preferred. Relevant professional certifications are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications The successful candidate will demonstrate: Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple technology initiatives.
