Primary Purpose
The Manager, Tax Technology is responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, and ongoing optimization of tax technology solutions supporting Exelon's end-to-end tax lifecycle, including tax accounting, compliance, forecasting, and regulatory reporting. This role partners closely with tax, IT, and finance teams to enhance data integrity, automate processes, and improve reporting capabilities. The Manager will also lead and develop staff while driving innovation and continuous improvement in tax systems and data management.
Primary Duties
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of tax technology platforms supporting income tax and taxes other than income (TOTIT), including tax provision, compliance, and reporting systems. Ensure data integrity, system reliability, and adherence to internal controls.
Oversee the integration of tax systems with enterprise financial platforms (e.g., ERP/EPM systems), ensuring accurate and efficient data flows to support tax accounting, compliance, and reporting processes.
Drive automation of tax processes, including accounting, return preparation, and forecasting models, to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance accuracy.
Lead tax data management strategy, including data sourcing, validation, and governance, to support regulatory filings, financial reporting, and analytics.
Collaborate with tax and finance teams to enhance forecasting and scenario modeling capabilities through advanced analytics and technology solutions.
Evaluate and implement new tax technology tools and emerging solutions (e.g., data analytics, AI/automation tools), including vendor management and system upgrades.
Mentor and develop staff, providing guidance on tax technology tools, data analytics, and system-driven processes, while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Proactively identify and execute process improvements that enhance transparency, strengthen controls, and improve scalability of tax operations. Lead special projects and cross-functional initiatives.

This position will be based at the Tax Department's headquarters in Chicago.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate Accounting or other financial discipline
  • 7-10 years related experience including 5 years or more of professional tax experience focusing on large publicly traded corporations, including a combination of industry and public accounting experience with experience in technology management
  • Good working knowledge of all major areas of federal and state tax law effecting Exelon
  • Appreciation of the impact of taxes on the financial statements
  • Proficient analytical ability to resolve complex, technical issues; recognizes the need for and seeks out internal subject matter expertise, as well as external subject matter expertise, when necessary.
  • Proficient research, writing and communication skills
  • 40 hours of ongoing annual continuing professional education will be required of all professionals in the Department (at the Company's expense)

Preferred Qualifications
• CPA, MST, JD, or other relevant advanced degree or certification.
• Experience with enterprise systems such as Oracle EPM, SAP, or similar platforms.
• Experience in data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI) and automation technologies
