Job description

Creighton University is hiring a full-time Executive Assistant for Student Life. 

Responsible for ensuring the efficient and professional operation of the office and providing high-level administrative support to departmental leadership and staff. This role serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, and campus partners, creating a welcoming, inclusive, and service-oriented environment. 

  • Oversee daily operations, including supervision of student reception staff, coordination of divisional events, and support for hiring, onboarding, and training processes. 
  • Manage shared calendars, meeting logistics, office supplies, and internal conference rooms. 
  • Responsible for maintaining and reconciling departmental budgets, processing financial transactions, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring accurate and compliant record keeping. Regularly handles sensitive and confidential student information, adhering to FERPA guidelines and university policies. 
  • Compose correspondence and reports, coordinate communications across campus units, manage shared documentation systems, and support website and social media updates. 
  • Services may be provided to departments and staff beyond the Student Life staff located in the same office suite. At times, work outside of the normal 8-4:30 workday may be needed to support departmental initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8+ years administrative experience required. Experience in higher education is a plus.
  • Demonstrated customer service focus and ability to resolve conflict and deal with demanding clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite a must.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Creighton's Mission and the Ignatian values.
