Job description

Let's face it, a company whose mission is human transformation better have some fresh thinking about the employer/employee relationship.
We do. We can't cram it all in here, but you'll start noticing it from the first interview.
Even our candidate experience is different. And when you get an offer from us (and accept it), you get way more than a paycheck. You get a personal BetterUp Coach, a development plan, a trained and coached manager, the most amazing team you've ever met (yes, each with their own personal BetterUp Coach), and most importantly, work that matters.
This makes for a remarkably focused and fulfilling work experience. Frankly, it's not for everyone. But for people with fire in their belly, it's a game-changing, career-defining, soul-lifting move.
Join us and we promise you the most intense and fulfilling years of your career, doing life-changing work in a fun, inventive, soulful culture.
If that sounds exciting-and the job description below feels like a fit-we really should start talking.
We are a hybrid company with a focus on in-person collaboration when necessary. Employees are expected to be available to work from one of our office hubs at least two days per week, or eight days per month. Our US hub locations include: Austin, TX; New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; and the Washington, DC metro area. If this is a role based in Europe, our Europe hub locations are London, UK and Amsterdam, NL. Please ensure you can realistically commit to this structure before applying.
As a Strategy & Operations Manager, Account Management you will join a team of Strategy & Business Operations Associates, who partner closely with the Chief of Staff to uncover data-driven insights and implement cross-functional initiatives to enable coaching at scale. In this specific role you will be focused on building a new go-to-market segment and approach that focuses on creating CxO engagement through peer connections and a consultative, solution based sales experience.
For success in the role it is critical that you are comfortable working alongside BetterUp's executive team and board of directors to develop, drive, and report on the most pressing organizational initiatives that drive key business outcomes. You handle problem-solving with poise and attention to detail, ensuring that all functions of your business are operating efficiently. Qualified candidates have data analytics capabilities, are operationally-savvy, well-organized, passionate about solving problems, and have the executive presence to manage complex interpersonal situations.
What you'll do:
Join the team already in motion to test out a new go to market (GTM) strategy:
  • Drives account and key stakeholder research for the enterprise organizations in the segment
  • Crafts all executive communications and deliverables (outside of formal proposal)
  • Orchestrates internal cross-functional coordination, collaboration, and processes
  • Manages engagement with the CxOs team at the prospect organization to ensure alignment
  • Leads RFP responses as needed including strategy and coordination of response materials
  • Accountable for pipeline generation within the new segment. For clarity, this does NOT mean the candidate is doing cold outreach etc, but the organizational metric that should move with a job well done is the pipeline we generate in the new GTM segment.

Strategy & Operations Associate (more broadly): Launch, implement and report on key projects to drive efficiency and scale:
  • Independently develop thorough and complete analysis for each project
  • Provide insights from project results which allow business partners to take effective action to improve our coaching platform
  • Project manage multiple key business initiatives, at different stages, all at the same time
  • Elevate cross-functional data-driven decision making
  • Create tools and reports to elevate executive decision making
  • Influence and build consensus around data insights and actionable next steps
  • Collaborate with other functional leaders

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:
  • 3+ years of strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or equivalent experience
  • BA/BS degree - we're more interested in what you learned and how you've applied it to your life than what you studied
  • Strong interest in organizational behavior, positive psychology, coaching, or behavioral sciences - we geek out over this stuff, daily!
  • Intellectual and analytical curiosity - initiative to dig into the "why" of various results.
  • Strong experience with and comfort analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to derive specific, focused insights.
  • Project management & execution skills, including attention to detail, commitment to consistently meeting timelines, operating from a sense of urgency, and an ability to prioritize across multiple projects and initiatives

You do not hesitate to get involved, from the high-level, strategic work to the tactical (sometimes thankless) work. You have a bias towards action and the ability to translate objectives into concrete work plans.
  • No ego teammate: We thrive in an environment of healthy and respectful collaboration that is fundamentally driven by the desire to succeed as a team.
