Job Summary:
In this position, you will play a key role on the Corporate Strategic Account team. You will build and maintain personal relationships with key contacts, client organizations, vendors, and strategic partners.
The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for driving profitable growth and long-term value within a defined set of key accounts. The SAM builds deep customer relationships, develops and executes strategic account plans, and orchestrates internal resources to expand share of wallet and deliver differentiated value.
The role works in close partnership with local sales teams, combining strategic leadership with strong field execution to ensure consistent and effective customer experience.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Builds and maintains personal long-term relationships with key contacts, client organizations, key vendors, and strategic partners
  • Actively builds a personal network through deep customer engagement
  • Keeps informed of clients' present and future plans for growth, projects, and programmatic and technical requirements
  • Develops and maintains 3-year strategic account plans
  • Develops and coordinates sales strategies with clearly defined objectives, actions, and milestones
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with extended sales teams, marketing, engineering, product management, procurement, and operations to align solutions and maximize integrated selling
  • Demonstrates using personal knowledge, supplemented by other Chemelex personnel, how Chemelex aids its clients in achieving objectives
  • Develops bid and proposal strategies
  • Recommends teaming requirements
  • Develops and implements win plan recommendations
  • Sets the story line for proposals and actively manages their development
  • Maintains tracking and reporting through Chemelex CRM tools
  • Develops and maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) and reports to ensure client satisfaction, support retention, and drive growth
  • Stays informed on market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to develop informed strategy
  • Actively participates in industry and trade associations

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field preferred
  • 8-10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in industrial markets such as Oil & Gas, Alternative Fuels, Chemicals, Power, Metals & Mining, Semiconductor, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals
  • Familiarity with Lump Sum, Cost Reimbursable, Target Cost, and Guaranteed Maximum Price commercial models for industrial and manufacturing projects
  • Established client relationships within the industry preferred
  • Ability to grow and maintain executive level relationships
  • Persuasive communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to connect and coordinate across Chemelex, our clients, our supply chain, and our strategic partnerships
  • Ability to think on your feet and showcase agility in front of clients and senior executives
  • Client centric approach and philosophy to developing business
