Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, governance, and continuous improvement of EHS standards, programs, and strategic initiatives across Specs Operations globally, ensuring consistency while enabling site specific operational requirements.
  • Establish annual EHS objectives, key results, and performance indicators for Abingdon, Chandler, and other assigned Specs locations.
  • Present EHS performance, emerging risks, compliance status, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership and executive stakeholders, enabling informed business and operational decisions.
  • Provide leadership and direction for EHS Specialists, including performance management, coaching, career development, and succession planning.
  • Influence organizational decision making by integrating EHS considerations into operational, engineering, and business planning processes.
  • Build a high performance safety culture focused on accountability, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Own EHS management systems, ensuring alignment with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, HSG65 principles, and Snap corporate standards.
  • Provide strategic oversight of compliance with applicable UK, U.S., and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Establish governance processes for compliance, auditing, inspections, corrective actions, and management reviews.
  • Lead enterprise-level risk assessments for manufacturing, cleanroom, and R&D operations.
  • Ensure effective management of regulatory obligations, permits, compliance documentation, agency interactions, and external audits.
  • Own EHS programs supporting manufacturing, engineering, R&D, cleanroom, facilities, and operational functions.
  • Provide strategic oversight of hazardous materials, hazardous waste, chemical safety, machine safety, contractor safety, laser safety, industrial hygiene, and hazardous gas safety programs.
  • Establish governance and performance standards for hazardous gas systems, including toxic and hazardous gas storage, distribution, monitoring, and emergency response programs.
  • Partner with Engineering, Facilities, Manufacturing, Workplace Services, and Operations leaders to ensure EHS requirements are integrated into facility design, equipment procurement, commissioning, and operational changes.
  • Provide EHS leadership for capital projects, facility expansions, equipment installations, new technologies, and operational scale-up initiatives through proactive risk management and design review.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive Environmental Health & Safety experience.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience managing EHS professionals or leading multi-site EHS programs.
  • Expert knowledge of EHS management systems, regulatory compliance, risk management, and strategic program development in manufacturing, R&D, cleanroom, semiconductor, advanced technology, or hardware development environments.
  • Experience managing EHS programs within manufacturing, R&D, cleanroom, semiconductor, advanced technology, or hardware development environments.
  • Experience leading EHS programs across multiple locations, business units, or regulatory jurisdictions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate technical and regulatory risks to executive and non-technical audiences.
