Job description

Job Summary

Senior Program Manager and Engineering Leader with over 25 years of product development experience, with 20 years in semiconductor equipment development and engineering services. Leading complex semiconductor equipment New Product Introduction (NPI) programs from concept through production, while managing cross-functional engineering teams and developing technical leadership capabilities across global organizations.

Provides both program leadership and people management, overseeing multidisciplinary engineering teams, mentoring technical leaders, driving organizational capability development, optimizing resource utilization, and fostering a culture of execution excellence and continuous improvement. Leads collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, field service, applications, sales, marketing, reliability, safety, and customer organizations to deliver products that meet performance, cost, schedule, quality, and regulatory objectives.

Drives the integration and qualification of complex hardware, software, process, and automation systems while managing program risk, customer commitments, operational priorities, and business objectives. Experienced in semiconductor equipment product development, customer relationship management, strategic planning, engineering delivery management, and organizational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead semiconductor equipment product development programs from requirements definition through production release.
  • Manage hardware, software, process, and subsystem projects to achieve Product Requirement Definition (PRD) objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Product Support, Field Service, Sales, Marketing, and Applications.
  • Review and approve technical solutions to ensure compliance with performance, safety, reliability, and customer requirements.
  • Drive integration of mechanical, electrical, software, controls, process, and test systems.
  • Develop and manage program schedules, budgets, resources, milestones, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Lead design reviews, qualification activities, compliance audits, and stage-gate approvals.
  • Champion DFx initiatives including Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Service, Reliability, Compliance, Quality, and Cost.
  • Manage customer development programs and Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), ensuring product performance and qualification objectives are achieved.
  • Support field deployments, customer demonstrations, upgrade programs, issue resolution, and continuous product improvement.
  • Mentor global engineering teams and drive engineering best practices, operational excellence, and program execution.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Postgraduate education in AI/ML, Industrial Automation, or related technical disciplines preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.

Experience

  • 25+ years of engineering and product development experience.
  • 20+ years of semiconductor equipment experience, including ion implantation systems.
  • Proven leadership of complex NPI programs and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience managing global engineering organizations and customer-facing development programs.
  • Strong background in semiconductor equipment design, qualification, compliance, reliability, and manufacturing readiness.

Technical Expertise

  • Ion implantation systems (High Energy, High Current, and Medium Current).
  • Semiconductor equipment subsystems including beamline, LINAC, gas delivery, vacuum systems, wafer handling, cooling, power distribution, safety systems, and high-voltage assemblies.
  • Product qualification, reliability engineering, DFx methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
  • CAD, PLM/PDM, CAE, and analytics tools including Pro/E, SOLIDWORKS, Windchill, SAP ECTR, Ansys, Python, and Minitab.
