We are underwriters of risk, growth, progress and opportunity. We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.
Opportunity
This role is a unique opportunity for a talented senior re/insurance risk professional to join Everest Group at a moment of a strategic pivot, materially contributing to shaping an enhanced globalized ERM framework that is effective, pragmatic and fit-for-purpose. Centrally positioned overseeing Everest's Reinsurance business in the US, Everest's main US Reinsurance Legal Entities as well as Everest's growing 3rd party capital platform (Mt. Logan), with high visibility to the Group CUO, CEO of Mt. Logan and all Reinsurance Underwriting teams across the firm (incoming and outgoing), collaborating closely with the other ERM leaders.
Summary
A member of Everest's ERM Leadership Team, this leader will be the risk partner to the Reinsurance Division's leadership team in North America, as well as the CEO of Mt. Logan, Everest's growing proprietary 3rd party capital platform, covering the respective risk oversight responsibilities such as RCSAs, Operational Risk Heatmap and risk assessments of strategic initiatives. Provide independent oversight of risk for Everest Reinsurance Company (Delaware), one of Everest's largest main Legal Entities, and promote continuous enhancement of Everest's strong risk culture, actively promoting a culture of effective risk awareness, risk management and governance across the Global Reinsurance Division.
Responsibilities
Legal Entity Risk Management:
Be responsible for developing, implementing, leading and maintaining the risk management frameworks for Everest's Reinsurance Legal Entities in North America in close coordination with the International counterpart who covers relevant branches. Ensure appropriateness and consistency of risk management strategies, governance and policies in line with Everest's Group ERM Framework under Group Supervision by the BMA in Bermuda and support the Compliance Function to maintain and enhance regulatory compliance from a risk management perspective. Continue development of a cohesive control framework and risk appetites in local entities. Lead annual Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) reporting and support regulatory inquiries and requests. Lead the activities related to internal risk reporting with Legal Entity management and board as well as to Group ERM and Risk Committees. Support the Division's and Legal Entities' management teams to comply with their regulatory and governance duties. Oversee any risk remediation as appropriate and support periodic operational resiliency policies practices. Manage Reinsurance Division engagement with internal risk committee reporting up to local and executive management.
Large transactions, underwriting growth initiatives, retrocession and 3rd party capital:

Collaborate with business underwriting teams to identify and assess risks related to growth initiatives across lines of business (incl. financial lines and parametric covers). Partner with the Mt. Logan management team as CRO to ensure all risks are reliably identified, understood and mitigated as appropriate, including those related to third-party investors in the insurance-linked space.
