Summary:
The Senior Manager, Delivery Operations is accountable for the short to midterm (1-3 year) execution of LSPT's delivery and terminal operations strategy across a multisite network. This role provides enterprise leadership to Terminal Managers and delivery operations teams, ensuring safe, compliant, cost effective, and high-quality transportation and delivery performance. Operating with significant autonomy under the Director, LSPT Fleet Operations, this role sets operational direction, drives cross-functional integration, establishes operational standards, and drives continuous improvement across the delivery network.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead terminal operations across the LSPT network through direct management of Terminal Managers, ensuring consistent safety, service quality, and operational execution.
  • Serve as a key member of the LSPT Leadership Team, influencing senior leaders and stakeholders while clearly communicating performance, risks, and operational recommendations.
  • Translate business objectives into operational plans for capacity, fleet utilization, resource deployment, and infrastructure readiness; ensure alignment with sales forecasts and delivery needs.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA, OSHA, environmental, and company standards; oversee regulatory audits, driver compliance, and business continuity preparedness.
  • Drive customer service excellence and performance management by resolving escalations, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead data driven performance management by establishing and governing KPIs, leveraging analytics to diagnose complex issues, and managing budgets to balance cost, service, and compliance.
  • Partner cross functionally with maintenance, planning, HSE, HR, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure aligned execution of operational plans and integration of systems and processes.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reliability, safety, and service quality across the delivery network.
  • Lead workforce planning, staffing, talent development, and succession strategies to meet current and future operational needs; coach leaders and hold teams accountable for results.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Deep knowledge of fleet, terminal, and delivery operations, including asset utilization, network performance, and DOT/FMCSA regulated environments.
  • Ability to translate functional strategy into executable operational plans across a complex, distributed network with a 1-3 year planning horizon.
  • Strong command of operational metrics, analytics, and budget management to balance cost efficiency, service reliability, and risk.
  • Demonstrated success driving operational improvements through process discipline, standardization, and adoption of best practices or enabling technology.
  • Clear, credible communicator who can assess complex issues, exercise sound judgment, and present recommendations to executive leadership.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, logistics, supply chain, business management, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or distribution operations, including significant people management responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience leading managers and multisite operations in regulated or safety critical environments
  • Strong background in operational analytics, budget management, and cross-functional leadership scope

Preferred Skills & Competencies:
  • Relevant industry certifications or advanced training in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations (e.g., CTP or equivalent) that support operational credibility and regulatory competence.
  • Strong understanding of transportation and logistics systems, including scheduling, dispatch, and load planning platforms, with the ability to evaluate system effectiveness and guide adoption or improvement.
  • Demonstrated understanding of bulk truck and regulated transportation operations, including the operational and safety considerations inherent to these environments.
  • Practical knowledge of CMV operations, including driving, dispatch, and load planning, to inform operational leadership.

  • Ability to work in warehouse/terminal environments with moderate physical demands
