Job description

Role Description
The Financial Controller (FC) is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the financials of Green Teams. The FC leads the finance and administration team. The FC reports to the CEO and is part of the leadership team.
Financial Operations and Information
• Demonstrate personal/professional behaviors consistent with the Company's mission and values.
• Manage accounting, tax, and treasury functions, as part of a high-performance team, generating high-quality, GAAP compliant, information benefiting the entire organization
• Primary individual responsible for managing the month-end closing procedure, effectively managing all aspects of the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, and other financial documents as needed
• Evaluate and communicate the financial information noted above with additional trend analysis and narrative
• Work with the members of the finance/ admin and operations team to make sure all transactions are processed timely, accurately and supported with proper documentation
• Learn and utilize accounting (QuickBooks Desktop) and operational (Aspire) databases in order to provide timely and accurate financial reports
• Assure an effective system of internal controls
• Provide a single, reliable source of financial data and analytics
• Assist with debt, equity, and lease financing
• Assist with banking and CPA (tax and annual review) relationships
Planning and Strategy
• Establish and maintain cohesive working relations with CEO and members of the leadership teams
• Understand the challenges within each department and determine how the finance/ admin team can help facilitate a solution to any financially related challenges
• Oversee the development of annual financial and capital expenditure budgets
• Demonstrate the ability to proactively solve problems and advance Green Teams financial performance
• Assist in the due diligence process for future acquisitions
Risk Management
• Ensure that financial record keeping meets the requirements of bankers and auditors
• Report appropriate financial risk issues to the CEO
Company Leadership
• Participate in the weekly division head leadership meetings
• Supervise the finance/admin staff and reviews all key functions - AR, AP, payroll, and inventory.
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• CPA license (preferred)
Experience
• 5-8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
• Prior controller or senior accounting manager experience (2-4 years)
• Experience with month-end/year-end close processes
• Some public accounting background, is a plus
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop)
• Strong Excel skills
• Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Understanding of GAAP
