Overview

PCC’s Sr. Manager, Retail Space Planning & Analytics is responsible for developing and leading PCC’s retail space strategy, translating merchandising objectives into optimized placement, assortment, and space allocation decisions that maximize customer experience, sales, margin, and productivity. The role oversees planogram development, space planning analytics, and shelf productivity initiatives to ensure merchandising strategies are effectively executed in stores. As a collaborative partner to the organization, the Sr. Manager provides data-driven insights and recommendations that influence assortment decisions, space productivity, and overall merchandising performance. They work closely with Merchandising, Operations, Finance, Store Development, and senior leadership to establish, measure, manage, and continuously improve PCC’s retail space planning capabilities.

Main Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the category reset process, seasonal transitions, and new item launches including creation of calendar
  • Provide leadership and direction to space planning team
  • Develop insights and recommendations that influence category strategy, assortment decisions, capital investments, and store merchandising priorities
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for space productivity, assortment efficiency, and merchandising execution
  • Advise merchandising leadership on space allocation strategies that support category growth and profitability objectives
  • Lead planograms processes aligned to category strategy and assortment decisions
  • Lead analytics that evaluate the effectiveness of assortment, placement, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Partner with Store Development and Merchandising to support new store openings, remodels, and refreshes
  • Build organizational capabilities, tools, and processes that improve space planning effectiveness across the co-op
  • Translate data into clear, actionable insights for merchandising team
  • Partner closely with cross functional teams including store operations, finance, and store development
  • Observe and determine process improvements to share with leadership
Qualifications and Skills

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field
  • 5-10 years in retail, CPG, space planning, or merchandising analytics
  • Hands-on experience with space planning software
    • Category or store-level data
  • 3-5 years’ experience in people and team leadership
  • Proven experience developing strategies, establishing KPIs and systems, andstorytelling with data

Skills

  • Exceptionally strong analytical skills (Excel, BI tools)
  • Experience with space planning software (e.g., Blue Yonder/JDA, Spaceman)
  • Ability to connectdata to merchandising decisions
