Key Account Manager Retail - Fragrance

GOOD PEOPLE RECRUITMENT

New York, NY โ€ข Hybrid

Full-time

Job description

๏ปฟKey Account Manager, Retail

Clean, Genderless Fragrance Brand | New York City | Hybrid

We're partnering with a fast-growing, clean and genderless fragrance brand to find a Key Account Manager, Retail, to own relationships with their national retail partners. The brand has grown from a scrappy, founder-led project into one of the most distinctive names in modern fragrance, with product on shelf at major beauty and specialty retailers across the country.

The Role

As Key Account Manager, you'll own the day-to-day relationship with a portfolio of national retail accounts - think major beauty retailers, specialty and clean-beauty retail, and department stores. You'll be the connective tissue between the retailer's buying and merchandising teams and the brand's own sales, marketing, and operations teams.

This is a hybrid role based in New York City, with regular travel expected for retailer meetings, market visits, and store walks.

What You'll Own

You'll manage the full account relationship - from seasonal planning and forecasting to sell-through analysis, replenishment, and in-store merchandising standards. You'll build and present account plans, track performance against sales targets, and flag risks and opportunities before they become problems.

You'll also lead the strategy for new door and space growth within existing accounts, partner with marketing on launch moments, GWPs, and retailer marketing calendars, and make sure field and beauty advisor teams are trained and excited about the brand.

And you'll be the person buyers call first - building the kind of trust and rapport that turns a retail account into a real partnership.

What We're Looking For

You have 4-6+ years managing key or national accounts in beauty, fragrance, or CPG, with real relationships and experience navigating major beauty retail buying teams.

You're fluent in sell-through data, forecasting, and retail math, and know how to turn that into a story that gets a buyer excited. You're organized, commercially sharp, and comfortable moving fast in a founder-led, still-scaling brand where the playbook is still being written.

Title: Key Account Manager, Retail

Location: New York City - Hybrid

Reports to: Head of Sales

This Could Be a Fit Ifโ€ฆ

You love the beauty retail landscape and know the major players inside and out.

You want to own real relationships with iconic retail accounts, not just manage a spreadsheet.

You're energized by clean, independent beauty brands with a strong point of view.

You can plan a season out and still move fast when something changes.

You want to help shape a brand's retail strategy, not just execute someone else's.
