Job description

Job Title: Asst/Associate Designer - Home Textiles (Bedding, Bath, Pet)


Location:Monday - Thursday onsite, Friday remote


Summary: American Exchange Group is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Assistant or Associate Designer to join our growing Home team. This role is perfect for someone with a strong foundation in textile and product design who is eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a wide range of home categories-including bedding, bath, pet beds, and more. This role will focus on designing for a new, premium licensed brand for our off-price business.

You'll report to the Sr Designer and work closely with Production, Packaging, and Merchandising to support the design and development of innovative home products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create seasonal mood and trend boards in collaboration with the Sr Designer
  • Develop accurate artwork, repeats, and specs using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Prepare design files for sampling and production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product execution matches design intent
  • Support product revisions, costing updates, and presentation materials
  • Stay on top of timelines, trends, and technical innovations in textiles
  • Contribute ideas and assist wherever needed throughout the design process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field
  • 1+ years of design experience in home or fashion/apparel
  • Proficiency inAdobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities
  • Detail-driven with a collaborative mindset and eagerness to grow
