What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Kaledo (Fashion CAD) Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Kaledo Specialist, you need a solid background in fashion design, textile technology, and proficiency in CAD-based design, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Expertise in Lectra Kaledo software and familiarity with related textile design tools are typically required. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and effective communication are crucial soft skills in this role. These abilities ensure accurate, innovative designs and seamless collaboration throughout the fashion development process.

How does a Kaledo Designer typically collaborate with pattern makers and production teams during the fashion design process?

Kaledo Designers frequently work closely with pattern makers and production teams to ensure that digital textile and fashion designs are accurately translated into physical samples. This collaboration often involves sharing Kaledo files, discussing technical specifications, and making adjustments based on feedback from the production floor. Regular meetings and joint review sessions help address any feasibility issues and maintain alignment with production timelines. Effective communication and a strong understanding of both the creative and technical aspects of apparel design are key to success in this role.

What are Kaledo professionals and what do they do?

Kaledo professionals are specialists in using Lectra Kaledo, a suite of software tools designed for fashion and textile design. They create digital sketches, patterns, colorways, and textile prints, helping brands and manufacturers streamline their design processes.
