Job Description

Sealed Air is seeking a high-impact National Accounts Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our Protective Packaging team. This is a strategic, high-visibility “hunter” role focused on identifying, pursuing, and securing net new business across enterprise-level and high-potential accounts. The BDM will play a pivotal role in driving growth by bringing Sealed Air’s differentiated solutions to customers in industrial packaging and adjacent sectors.

After successful acquisition and onboarding of new accounts, the BDM will manage customer relationships for a transitional period before handing off to a local Account Manager to ensure long-term success and continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive New Customer Acquisition: Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across targeted verticals and enterprise customers.
  • C-Suite Engagement: Build relationships and lead high-level discussions with senior decision-makers to understand business needs and align Sealed Air’s value proposition.
  • Strategic Pipeline Development: Build and manage a healthy pipeline that sustains a minimum of 3X the annual growth goal, using a mix of self-sourced leads and company-generated insights.
  • Consultative Selling: Uncover customer challenges and align solutions that combine Sealed Air’s packaging technologies, services, and sustainability-focused innovations.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Orchestrate internal and external stakeholders across engineering, product, marketing, and sales to ensure seamless execution from opportunity to close.
  • Performance Accountability: Consistently exceed sales targets, strategic objectives, and MBOs as defined by the division leader.
  • Tool & Budget Stewardship: Efficiently utilize CRM, prospecting tools, and manage travel/expense budgets to maximize ROI.
Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field) – or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, with a strong preference for experience in:
    • Industrial packaging, automation, materials, or logistics
    • Selling to complex, matrixed organizations
    • Developing greenfield opportunities from scratch
    • Managing long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to:
    • Build executive-level relationships and drive strategic conversations
    • Navigate and influence within complex customer environments
    • Drive deals from discovery through negotiation and contract closure
    • Deliver compelling value propositions tailored to customer-specific pain points
  • Strong Business Acumen: Ability to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.
  • Excellent Communication: Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, organized, and results driven. Able to set priorities and work independently.
  • Team Player: Able to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively in a matrixed environment.

Pay Transparency:

Base Salary Range $100,000 - $150,000 

Year 1 Commission Guarantee $100,000

The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs.
