Job description

Position: Project Work Specialist
Pay Rate: $21 an hour
Work location: City of Avondale
Shift & schedule: Monday through Friday | Evening Shift
The Project Work Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of specialty facility services and project-based work across customer locations. This position supports both planned and on-demand projects, including window cleaning, pressure washing, floor care, deep cleaning, and other facility maintenance services.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in different environments and locations. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to operate specialized equipment, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results for our customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform specialty cleaning and facility-service projects at customer locations.
  • Complete interior and exterior window cleaning, including glass, frames, sills, and related surfaces.
  • Perform pressure washing and exterior cleaning of sidewalks, entryways, buildings, loading areas, and other designated surfaces.
  • Perform a variety of floor care services, including:
    • Strip and wax
    • Scrubbing and buffing
    • Burnishing
    • Carpet extraction
    • Floor restoration
    • Other specialty floor-care applications
  • Perform deep cleaning and periodic project work beyond routine janitorial services.
  • Operate and maintain pressure washers, floor machines, extractors, buffers, lifts, vacuums, and other specialty equipment.
  • Follow established procedures for the safe use, handling, and storage of equipment and cleaning chemicals.
  • Complete projects according to established quality standards, timelines, and customer expectations.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure areas meet company and customer standards.
  • Communicate project status, issues, supply needs, and equipment concerns to the appropriate manager.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and customer-specific safety procedures.
  • Travel to different customer locations as required to support project work.
  • Assist with special projects, event support, facility cleanups, and other operational needs as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in commercial cleaning, facility services, janitorial services, construction cleanup, pressure washing, floor care, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience operating floor-care equipment and/or pressure-washing equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional evenings, weekends, or extended hours based on project requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on assignment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely.
  • Ability to work at heights when performing window cleaning or other elevated work, with appropriate training and equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
