Position: Project Controls Director

Department: Project Controls

Status: Regular Full-Time; Exempt/Salaried

The Project Controls Director is essential to the Graywolf management team and is responsible for managing our site project controls engineers and managers through the successful planning, staffing, project execution, and financials of the project. This team is responsible for creating and maintaining the project schedule, forecasting labor needs, and delivering on all reporting requirements for the project to satisfy our clients, both internal and external, in collaboration with the project management and corporate leadership.

Key Performance Objectives

•Assign department resources as required by sales and project demand

•Oversee the execution of the production planning department

•Manage resource planning - current and future workload

•Ensure staff are properly trained for tasks they are assigned to

•Develop and deliver performance action plans for department staff

•Ensure change management protocol is being followed by team members

•Weekly project status review (project health)

•Support troubleshooting and recovery of troubled projects and directly manage project controls on complex projects

•Point of contact for all schedule delay and impact support

•Point of escalation for all jobs in defcon 3

•Support estimating with PC requirement evaluations and proposal schedules

•Audit compliance with contractual project control requirements

•Deliver total GW solution to client as needed

•Required to sign off on all proposal schedules and project execution plans over $5MM

•Provide sanity check on manpower demands

•Validate/audit the earn vs burn to correct for labor codes in budget master

Education/Training

Relevant Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred; or equivalent and relevant work experience.


Work Experience

Seven or more years of experience in planning and scheduling complex heavy industrial construction projects. Five or more years managing a team.

Specialized Knowledge

•Proven knowledge of construction methods, processes, scheduling, and coordination.

•Understanding of scheduling dynamic construction projects using critical path method.

•Working knowledge of forensic scheduling and claims management.

Software & Technology

MS Office Suite, Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects & Navisworks

Work Environment

Position requires as many hours as needed to fulfill the daily and weekly obligations required to carry out the functions. Working long days including evenings and weekends can be required for this position. This position is generally indoors in a climate-controlled office. Travel and project site visits to provide support and oversight may be required.
